Sub-Committee on Mental Health to resume its pre-legislative scrutiny of the general scheme of the Mental Health (Amendment) Bill 2021

The Sub-Committee on Mental Health will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 22 March to resume its pre-legislative scrutiny of the general scheme of the Mental Health (Amendment) Bill 2021 at 11am in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House. 

The purpose of the Bill is to amend the Mental Health Act 2001 to give effect to the recommendations of an Expert Group Review on mental health legislation.

The Committee will hear from representatives from the:

·       College of Psychiatrists of Ireland

·       Irish Association of Social Workers

The meeting in Committee Room 1 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.

The members of the Sub-Committee are: Cathaoirleach Senator Frances Black, Deputies Neasa Hourigan, Gino Kenny, John Lahart, Mark Ward and Senators Aisling Dolan, Martin Conway and Annie Hoey.
