Joint Oireachtas Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media to meet with representatives from the hospitality and tourism sector.

The Joint Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 6 April with representatives from the hospitality and tourism sector to discuss working conditions and skills shortages.

The Committee will hear submissions from:

·       Restaurants Association of Ireland

·       Irish Hotels Federation

·       Fáilte Ireland

Speaking ahead of the meeting at 1:30pm in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Niamh Smyth said: "We look forward to meeting with the Restaurants Association of Ireland, Irish Hotels Federation and Fáilte Ireland to discuss the impact that current skills shortages and working conditions are having on this vital sector. It is important that the Committee hears first-hand from representatives on these issues, and in particular around industry suggestions for possible solutions."

The meeting in Committee Room 1 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.

The Joint Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
