Joint Committee on Justice will meet to discuss the Proceeds of Crime (Gross Human Rights Abuses) Bill 2020 & separately for detailed scrutiny of the Ban on Sex for Rent Bill 2022

The Joint Committee on Justice will meet tomorrow, Tuesday June 21st 2022 to engage with stakeholders on the Proceeds of Crime (Gross Human Rights Abuses) Bill 2020 and then separately for detailed scrutiny of the Ban on Sex for Rent Bill 2022.

The meeting in 2 sessions will take place in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House at 3pm and will hear submissions from:

Session 1 15:00 – 16:00 (approx)

·       Officials from the Department of Justice

·       Mr Bill Browder, The Global Magnitsky Justice Campaign

·       Representatives from the Criminal Assets Bureau

Session 2 16:00 – 18:00 (approx)

·       Representatives from the Rape Crisis Network Ireland (RCNI)

·       Representatives from Threshold

·       Officials from the Department of Justice

·       Ms Ann Murphy, Irish Examiner

The Joint Committee on Justice has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
