Joint Committee on Education to discuss the Ireland Prison Education Strategy 2019 – 2022 & separately the current and future Education provision in Irish prisons

The Joint Committee on Education, Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science will meet tomorrow Tuesday, 5th July at 11am with the Irish Prison Service (IPS) and Education and Training Boards Ireland (ETBI) for a briefing on the Ireland Prison Education Strategy 2019 – 2022. It will then discuss current and future Education provision in Irish prisons with the Irish Education Prisons Association (IEPA) in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House. 

The meeting in 2 sessions will hear from:

Session 1 - 11am – 12:30pm (approx)

Officials from the Irish Prison Service and Education and Training Boards Ireland

Session 2 - 12:30pm – 2pm (approx)

Representatives from the Irish Prisons Education Association (IPEA)

The meeting in Committee Room 2 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.

The Joint Committee on Education, Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
