Joint Committee on Transport and Communications to discuss the provision of bus services in Dublin

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 8 November at 11am, to discuss the provision of bus services in Dublin in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House. 

The Committee will hear from:

·       Anne Graham, CEO of National Transport Authority (NTA)

·       Tim Gaston, Director Public Transport Services for National Transport Authority (NTA)

·       Andrew Edwards, Managing Director, Go-Ahead Ireland

·       James Caffrey, Finance Director, Go-Ahead Ireland

·       Andrea Keane, Acting Chief Executive & Company Secretary of Dublin Bus

·       Ciarán Rogan, Chief Customer Officer of Dublin Bus

Speaking ahead of the meeting Cathaoirleach Kieran O’Donnell said “the Committee is looking forward to receiving an urgent update on the provision of bus services in Dublin. There are numerous reports of missing buses and delays in services, with urgent questions that need to be answered and we will be asking the NTA to outline their plans to deal with this serious problem for passengers. Furthermore, we will also be seeking an update from the NTA on the operation of bus services nationwide, with reports from public transport users of long delays and cancelled services here as well”.

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
