Sub-Committee on Mental Health to meet for consideration of the report of the Irish Penal Reform Trust on access to rights for people detained in secure forensic mental health facilities

The Sub-Committee on Mental Health will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 6th December for consideration of the report of the Irish Penal Reform Trust on access to rights for people detained in secure forensic mental health facilities at 11am in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House. 

The Committee will hear from the Irish Penal Reform Trust, and to engage as well representatives from University of Galway who prepared the report.

Committee Cathaoirleach Senator Frances Black said “our meeting tomorrow will give the Sub-Committee the opportunity to substantially engage with the Irish Penal Reform Trust in relation to its report, and to engage as well with Professor Eilionóir Flynn and Eilís Ní Chaoimh.”
