Joint Committee on Transport and Communications to resume discussion on the provision of bus services in Dublin with NTA, Dublin Bus & Go-Ahead

The Committee will hear from:

·       Anne Graham, CEO of National Transport Authority (NTA)

·       Tim Gaston, Director Public Transport Services for National Transport Authority (NTA)

·       Billy Hann, Chief Executive of Dublin Bus

·       Andrea Keane, Company Secretary of Dublin Bus

·       Ciarán Rogan, Chief Customer Officer of Dublin Bus

·       Andrew Edwards, Managing Director of Go Ahead Ireland

Committee Cathaoirleach, Deputy Kieran O’Donnnell said “the resumed meeting tomorrow again allows our Committee to receive an urgent update on the provision of bus services in Dublin.

“When NTA, Dublin Bus and Go-Ahead were in before our Committee on 8th November, we put them on notice that we would be requesting them to come back in before us before Christmas for an update on the improvements made on the delivery of Bus Services to the public in Dublin. There continues to be many reports of missing buses and delays in services and we will be seeking details of contingency plans they have in place for the Christmas period."

“It is hugely important that Dublin bus users have a service they can rely on.  This is the first real Christmas since Covid where people will be travelling to shop, socialise, visiting family and friends – the least they are entitled to is a dependable bus service."

“Furthermore, we will also be seeking an update from the NTA on the operation of bus services nationwide."

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
