13 Noll 2022, 14:26

The Joint Committee on Health will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 14th December for discussion on recruitment, retention and manpower planning at 9:30am in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Seán Crowe TD said “the provision and retention of GPs is integral to the well-being of any society. Usually the GP is the first point of contact in matters of personal health and their importance is recognised by this Committee.

We will use the meeting tomorrow with the Irish College of General Practitioners’ to discuss their paper ‘Shaping the Future’ which looks at the workforce & workload crisis in general practice in Ireland. We will also look to the ICGP to bring valid and practicable ideas regarding what they feel can enhance the establishment of the Task Force on the Future of General Practice.”

The meeting in Committee Room 2 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
