Joint Committee on Transport and Communications meets with Aer Lingus CEO, Lynne Embleton to resume discussion on the Committees’ consideration of Ireland’s National Aviation Policy

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 14th December, to resume discussion of the Committees’ consideration of Ireland’s National Aviation Policy 9:30am in Committee Room 4 of Leinster House. 

The meeting will hear from Aer Lingus’s Senior Management:

·       Ms. Lynne Embleton, CEO

·       Mr. Donal Moriarty, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer

·       Mr. Reid Moody, Chief Strategy and Planning Officer

·       Mr. Peter O’Neill, Chief Operations Officer

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Kieran O’Donnell TD said: “our meeting with Aer Lingus tomorrow forms part of the committee’s on-going consideration of Ireland’s National Aviation policy. 

“It follows on from last week’s engagement with the Minister and Minister of State for Transport, Eamon Ryan TD and Hildegarde Naughton TD and previous meetings with  Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary and Eddie Wilson as well as with Willie Walsh, Director general of IATA together with our committee’s recent visit to Schiphol and Rotterdam airports.  

We look forward to hearing from Ms Embleton and her senior management team as we seek to gain Aer Lingus’s insight on how the industry is responding to the current challenges facing it." 

“Furthermore, we will be asking them how they feel the Irish Government and national aviation policy can best work with the sector to improve the experience for aviation companies, employees and customers.”

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
