Joint Committee on Health to meet for an update on the Sláintecare reforms

13 Meith 2023, 16:32

The Joint Committee on Health will meet on, Wednesday, 14th June for an update on the Sláintecare reforms at 9:30am in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House.

The Committee will hear from representatives from the Department of Health and Health Service Executive.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Seán Crowe said “the meeting tomorrow gives the Committee the welcome opportunity to get an up-to-date account from the Department of Health and HSE on the progress being made on the implementation of the Sláintecare reforms and the further measures that are planned next. The Committee is anxious to see that the commitment and momentum relating to the reform agenda are maintained and that clear progress is being made.

We welcome the number of significant steps that have been implemented to date in the Sláintecare reform programme, however we are cognisant that the reform process is lengthy and complex, and must be progressed at the same time as current pressing challenges confronting the health service are addressed.”

The meeting in Committee Room 2 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
