Joint Committee on Public Petitions and the Ombudsmen to meet with Ombudsman for Children to discuss 2021 annual report

The Joint Committee on Public Petitions and the Ombudsmen will meet tomorrow, Thursday, 15 June, to discuss the Ombudsman for Children’s Annual Report 2021 and related matters.

The meeting at 1.30pm in Committee Room 4 of Leinster House will hear from Dr Niall Muldoon, Ombudsman for Children; Dr Carmel Corrigan, Head of Participation and Rights Education; and Ms Ciara Gill, Policy Officer.

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Martin Browne said: “The Committee welcomes this opportunity to meet with Dr Muldoon and his colleagues and we look forward to discussing his 2021 report. We will then examine a number of petitions, including correspondence seeking to ‘Reform Irish Mental Health Services’.”

The Joint Committee on Public Petitions and the Ombudsmen is a standing Committee of the Houses of the Oireachtas and has 11 Members, seven from the Dáil and four from the Seanad.
