The Joint Committee on Health will meet on, Wednesday, 28th June for discussion on services for the treatment of endometriosis with representatives from the Endometriosis Association of Ireland at 9:30am in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House.
Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Seán Crowe TD said “Endometriosis is a misunderstood, misdiagnosed and mistreated condition that affects one in every 10 women. While the National Endometriosis Framework and other steps represent welcome progress in relation to it, many concerns - including the understanding of the nature of the condition, the needs of patients, and the adequacy of services for diagnosis and treatment – remain.
We look forward to hearing from the Endometriosis Association of Ireland about its proposals for an improved service and outcome for women affected by the condition.”
The meeting in Committee Room 2 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.
Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
