11 Iúil 2023, 15:16

The Joint Committee on Health will meet on, Wednesday, 12th July for an update in relation to the progress being made in the development of the new national children’s hospital and expenditure issues and trends in relation to the development at 9:30am in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Seán Crowe TD said ““Our Committee looks forward to getting in-depth information from representatives from the National Paediatric Hospital Development Board on progress and developments at the new national children’s hospital. The Committee has previously met the Board in relation to this badly-needed part of our national health infrastructure.

The Members of the Committee continue to be concerned about the rate of progress of the project as well as cost issues arising. The meeting will enable the Board to provide an up-date to the Committee following recent reports about on-going challenges facing the project, including alterations that are required to certain works, delays and additional costs.”

The meeting in Committee Room 2 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
