Cathaoirleach of the Oireachtas Committee on Culture, Arts, Sport & Media, Niamh Smyth T.D., met with Minister Catherine Martin to discuss matters relating to RTÉ

With a view to establishing a collegiate and collaborative approach to examining ongoing developments within RTÉ, Cathaoirleach Smyth and Minister Martin held a highly productive engagement, underpinned by a mutual desire to rebuild public trust and to support RTÉ’s delivery of a valued public good.

Cathaoirleach Smyth anticipates a fulsome and robust review process of all relevant issues within RTÉ, constructed in complementarity with the work and findings of the Joint Committee.

The Joint Committee looks ahead to further liaison with Minister Martin, and to a shared and strengthened scrutiny.
