The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 18th October to discuss the Transport Research Arena Event next April 2024 at 2:30pm in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House.

Speaking ahead of the meeting Committee Leas-Chathaoirleach Senator Gerry Horkan said: “We welcome the organisers to tomorrow’s meeting to discuss Transport Infrastructure Ireland’s (TII) delivery of the Transport Research Arena 2024 event in April next year. The Department of Transport is the official host for the event which is expected to attract up to 4,000 experts from around the world.

The TRA conference has taken place in a different European city every two years since 2006 and has grown to be the largest research and innovation conference of its kind in Europe.

It is unique in that it brings together all the sectors involved in transport and mobility, from the policymakers, planners and providers of transport infrastructure, designers, suppliers and researchers.

The conference is a research and innovation event and covers all transport modes including rail, road, water and aviation. Our Committee looks forward to tomorrow’s discussions with the Department on how planning of the TRA event is progressing.”
