The Joint Committee on Children, Equality, Disability, Integration & Youth chaired by Deputy Kathleen Funchion TD met with Coimisiún na Meán this week to discuss the “Protection of Children in the use of Artificial Intelligence”. Safety measures that are currently in place for children using this technology and what can be further implemented and strengthened to continue the common goal of protecting our young people was discussed.
The Committee welcomes the establishment of the new Online Safety and helpline/contact centre which allows Coimisiún na Meán to receive complaints from users of online services who believe the provider of an online service has not complied with its obligations under the EU Digital Service Act (DSA).
