The Joint Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media will meet today, Tuesday, 27th February for discussion with Catherine Martin TD, Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media on her oversight of RTÉ’s expenditure of public funds, governance issues and plans for support and funding for public service media.
Speaking ahead of the meeting at 19:00pm in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Niamh Smyth said: "We welcome the Minister to our meeting today and look forward to discussing steps undertaken to date by the Minister and her Department to see that public trust in RTÉ is restored and to ensure public service media is adequately funded into the future given its key role in our democracy. The Committee restates its call for transparency in this regard.

The Joint Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
