Joint Oireachtas Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport & Media meet for engagement on support for the development of Regional Film and TV production

The meeting will hear from Officials and representatives from:

·       Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media

·       Screen Ireland

·       TG4

·       Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ)

·       Department of Finance

·       Coimisiún na Meán

Speaking ahead of the meeting Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Niamh Smyth TD said “The significant international success of Irish actors and actresses and the calibre of Irish domestic, home-grown film and TV production demonstrates the active and positive encouragement and promotion of film and TV production from the regions in Ireland.

“The Committee looks forward to engaging with the range of state organisations and agencies attending tomorrow from the sector to delve deeper into what supports are there for producers and to get a clear indication on the current landscape for people developing film and TV.”
