Joint Oireachtas Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport meet for engagement on the integration of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association and Camogie Association with the Gaelic Athletic Association

The meeting in 2 sessions will hear from representatives from:

Session 1

• Camogie Association
• Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA)
• Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA)
• Mary McAleese, Chair of the Integration Steering Committee

Session 2

• Gaelic Players Association (GPA)
• GAA Scór
• National Handball
• Gaelic Games Referees
• Rounders
• GAA Club Players

Speaking ahead of the meeting Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Niamh Smyth TD said “We have seen recently that the Camogie Association, the GAA and the LGFA have proposed 2027 as the date for their plans for full integration between the three organisations.

“We intend to get a clear indication from those attending today on what they see as the future infrastructure needs that will stem from the amalgamation of the Gaelic Games representative bodies in Ireland. We will look for detail on the prime challenges facing the organisation such as fixtures, finances and facilities. Our Committee fully supports and looks forward to working with all involved to fully support and realise this ambition.”
