The Parliamentary Budget Office has published its Spring Commentary 2024. This publication sets out a summary and analysis of the current economic conditions in Ireland.
The publication of the Government’s Stability Programme Update (SPU) 2024 provides an update on current economic developments and sets out the Government’s fiscal and economic outlook for the remainder of 2024 and the medium-term outlook for the years 2025-2027.
The Spring Commentary provides details of the SPU’s short and medium-term outlook. In addition, the publication provides further analysis in areas such as employment, tax forecasts, the budget balance and debt sustainability, developments in government spending, climate-related spending and demographics.
The publication also discusses the newly proposed EU Governance Economic Framework and what the new rules mean for Ireland.
