Committee of Public Accounts to discuss C&AG’s 2019 accounts with Department of Environment, Climate and Communications

The Committee of Public Accounts (PAC) will meet tomorrow, Friday, 22 January, with officials from the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications to consider the Comptroller and Auditor General’s 2019 Appropriation Accounts.

The meeting at 1pm in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House to discuss Vote 29 – Communications, Climate Action and Environment will hear from the C&AG, Seamus McCarthy, and officials from the Department, led by the Secretary General, Mark Griffin.

PAC Chairman Deputy Brian Stanley said: “The Department of Environment, Climate and Communications has a wide-ranging remit encompassing expenditure related to important areas such as the environment, the National Broadband Plan, natural resources, and cyber security policy. The Committee looks forward to meeting with the Secretary General and his colleagues to examine the Department’s 2019 accounts.”

The PAC is a standing committee of Dáil Éireann which focuses on ensuring public services are run efficiently and achieve value for money.
