The Joint Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 7 July, to discuss the challenges facing the retail sector following the disruption of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The meeting at 9.30am in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House will hear from representatives of Retail Excellence and the Irish Congress of Trade Unions.

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Maurice Quinlivan said: “This meeting is the latest in a series we are holding with key stakeholders on the measures and supports needed to assist employers and protect workers as the economy and society reopen following the disruption due to Covid-19. The Committee looks forward to hearing about the particular perspective of those in the retail sector, which we know has been particularly affected since the beginning of 2020.”

The Joint Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.

The meeting in Committee Room 1 can be viewed live on Oireachtas.ie.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
