Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage to discuss ‘Housing for All’ with Minister Darragh O’Brien and Ministers of State

Minister O’Brien will be accompanied to the meeting at 3pm in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House by the Ministers of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Kieran O’Donnell TD and Malcolm Noonan TD.

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Steven Matthews said: “The Committee welcomes this opportunity to discuss Housing for All with Minister O’Brien and his colleagues, Ministers O’Donnell and Noonan. Over the last six months the Committee has carried out a comprehensive examination of the Government’s programme to deliver social, affordable and cost rental homes up to 2030.

“Areas examined with local authorities, approved housing bodies and Department officials include the projected delivery targets for social, affordable and cost rental housing, activation of vacant housing and derelict sites, urban regeneration and renewal, and the delivery of homes under the Part V process. The Committee now looks forward to hearing from the Ministers on the progress made in implementing Housing for All and any changes that can be made to speed up delivery of housing targets.”

The Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
