The Joint Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment will meet on Tuesday June 20th to discuss Ireland’s trade relationship with Canada.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday June 20th between 15:00-18:00 in Committee Room 4.
The following representatives are due to appear.
Vivian Doyle-Kelly – Director - Ireland-Canada Chamber of Commerce, Montreal
Dr. Deirdre Giblin – Chair - Ireland Canada Business Association
Jacqueline H.M. Gilna - Founder and Chair - Ireland Canada Business Council
Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Maurice Quinlivan said: “We welcome the opportunity to discuss Ireland’s trade relationship with Canada."
"Since Brexit, Ireland has increasingly become the gateway for Canadian companies to the European Union with dozens of Canadian companies choosing it as a location for expansion into the European market. Canadian direct investment in Ireland stands at 7 billion euro and there are more than 75 Canadian operational companies in Ireland, which directly employ approximately 15,000 people."
“We look forward to discussing how to further strengthening Ireland’s trade relationships and the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.”
