The Joint Committee on Health will meet on Tuesday, 24th October for consideration of the funding of health services in 2024 and the implications for health services and for the recruitment of personnel at 10am in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House.
The meeting will hear from representatives from the Health Service Executive and officials from the Department of Health.
Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Seán Crowe said “Our Committee is very aware that there has been significant investment in health over the past few years but tomorrow’s meeting will be an opportunity to discuss how Ireland’s health service will function in 2024 following the recent Budget announcement.
We will analyse with the HSE and Department of Health where they see the allocated funding for next year being directed as a priority and how impactful the recently announced recruitment freeze will have both on patients and health sector workers already under pressure.”
The meeting in Committee Room 1 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV
Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
