Enterprise Committee to meet for engagement with Chairperson Designate of IDA Ireland  

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Maurice Quinlivan said: “We welcome the opportunity to hear from the Mr O’Rourke as the new Chair of IDA Ireland. 2024 marks the 7^5th anniversary of IDA Ireland reflecting Ireland’s longstanding track record of positioning Foreign Direct Investment.

IDA clients directly account for 11% of total employment nationally and make a deep economic contribution that ranges from an annual spend of €35.8bn on payroll and Irish sourced goods and services, to €15.5bn on capital expenditure and over €7bn on in-house RD&I.”

“We look forward to discussing the opportunities and challenges for IDA Ireland amid significant geopolitical uncertainty with the resultant impact on the business environment; a more muted pace of growth in the global economy; the challenge of climate change and the AI revolution that is taking place.”
