Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage to discuss Update on Homelessness

The Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 5 March, to discuss an Update on Homelessness with key stakeholders.

The meeting from 2:15pm to 5:15pm in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House will be split into two sessions to hear from:

2:15pm – Officials from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, and representatives from Dublin Region Homeless Executive (DRHE) and Cork City Council;

3:45pm – Representatives from Alone, National One Parent Family Alliance, North West Simon and Cork Simon.

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Steven Matthews said: “The Committee welcomes this engagement with Department and local authority officials and stakeholder groups dealing with homeless people and families across the country, and looks forward to a wide-ranging update on the problem of homelessness and related matters.”

The Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.

The meeting in Committee Room 3 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.
