Enterprise Committee to meet for an engagement on the Department’s Report “Powering Prosperity – Ireland’s Offshore Wind Industrial Strategy”

The meeting will take place in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House between 10am-12:30pm.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Maurice Quinlivan said; “Our Committee looks forward to this engagement with the Department tomorrow. The topic of offshore renewable energy was a key policy priority in our recent Work programme which resulted in the Enterprise Committee publishing its own ‘Report on Offshore Renewable Energy’ in March 2023. It looked in-depth at a zero-carbon economy with particular relevance to aspects such as job creation and the development of skills and investment in green enterprise.

“We look forward to discussing the strategies, opportunities and challenges facing the Department in its implementation of their own Report and what the resultant impact on the business environment will be with the ultimate challenge of continuing climate change taking place at pace.”
